The work explores the experience living in and documenting the suburban landscape of the city. The ever-developing neighbourhood at the periphery of Islamabad is a backdrop for the works, allowing an examination of lived space. In addition, the works presented are a continuation of El-Edroos's interests in representing the physical within the virtual space, moving away from employing the grid within the image to inquire about the grid (planned housing, social media, etc.) with photography and photo manipulation.
The neighbourhood, which is in the process of becoming an entirely urban centre, contains artefacts such as pylons, street lights, water tanks and the bougainvillea bush which are shown in sharp contrast against the sky. The works are minimalistic, presenting a very surreal landscape that accentuates the mundane and the everyday as extraordinary.
